A Mshauri Careers Digital Media team member, the Video Content Specialist is a highly creative and self-starting storyteller, responsible for producing dynamic, engaging video content, including, but not limited to, copy, videos, photos, and graphics designed specifically for Mshauri Careers primary social media channels. This position may also assist with social media marketing efforts through display, social, and email marketing.
Duties & Requirements
Duties:
Conceptualize, shoot, and edit engaging video and photography content for all appropriate social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, etc.
Collaborate with our Social Media Specialist to produce and publish content that expands awareness of MC’s brand and reputation.
Maintain knowledge of timely, relevant societal topics, and identify opportunities to tie them to social-first video content.
Design engaging, visually appealing graphics for the Mshauri Careers social media accounts.
Actively seek to understand and capitalize on current platform and user engagement trends that will build on Miami’s existing social media content in new and exciting ways.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and have previous internship or professional experience in video editing, photography and graphic design of at least 2 years.
Ability to conceptualize, produce, shoot and edit engaging, timely and relevant social-first video content, from pre-production through final delivery.
Proficiency with the latest video editing software, graphics and effects, including but not limited to Adobe Premiere Elements, Nero Video, Corel VideoStudio and Doodly
Proficiency of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Snapchat, with a focus on how video can and should be utilized on each platform.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects with a quick turnaround time.
Ability to work nights and weekends on occasion as necessary.
Work specifications
Work hours: 15 to 20 hours per week
Work location: Nairobi - Work from home except for video shooting days
Work tools: expected to own a computer, professional camera equipment (including lighting) and editing software
